What is VelociTrades?

A free website that helps students learn how to research a stock. You type in a ticker and it runs 9 checks on the company, like what analysts expect, how the price compares to earnings, and what recent news says. Each check shows the numbers it used. There are also short lessons that use real companies, and Claim Check for testing things you read online.

Samarth Krishnan and Shaurya Bhadouria. We are 2 students. We wanted a free research tool that shows where its answers come from, so we built one. Samarth works on product, design and lessons. Shaurya works on engineering and data.

Yes. It's free, and you don't need a credit card. Saving things, like a watchlist, needs a free account.

Where does the data come from?

Accepted Answer

Prices and company numbers come from Yahoo Finance and are delayed. Headlines come from public news feeds. Some short summaries are written by AI, and those are labeled as AI.

Does VelociTrades tell me what to buy?

Accepted Answer

No. The result (leans positive, mixed or leans negative) sums up what the evidence suggests. It is a starting point for your own research and is not investment advice.

Does VelociTrades have lessons?

Yes. The Learn section has short lessons on topics like valuation, risk and diversification, quizzes that show how much you've learned, and Claim Check, where you paste something you read about a stock and work out what evidence would prove or disprove it.

Can teachers use it with a class or club?

Yes. A teacher or club leader can make a group with a join code, assign lessons and companies to research, and see who has finished them.
